My Favorites

I want to be upfront about my preferences-I'm not going to pretend that I like "all kinds of music" as so many people say.  When I hear that, I want to say "You like Dodecaphonism? and Monody? and Polka? and Tibetan Throat Singing? Wagnerian Opera? Death Metal? Bubblegum Pop?  Bach Cantatas? Yodeling? Crooning? Ambient? Zydeco? Stravinsky? Gangsta Rap? Monteverdi? Gospel?--You like ALL kinds of music?" -I want to ask this but I rarely do.   I believe there are few people who REALLY like all kinds of music, I certainly don't-but I do have an appreciation for a wide variety of genres.  I'll be more specific in future posts.

I'd like to thank Richard at Vinylsurrender for giving me the idea to start my own website.  I'd also like to thank Andrew for helping me get started.  My plan for M.L.A.U. (I'm not sure how I will eventually decide to abbreviate the name of the site-this is just my first, tentative thought), is to talk about my music favorites and also get some input from users to support, refute and/or augment my opinions.
